I've modified the "Ecumenical Proposals" proto to deal with the switch from Envoy to Herald.
---------- Protoproposal h0110 (AI=3) Ecumenical Proposals Preface. I wasn't joking when I suggested we have ecumenical proposals. Amend rule 2134 (Herald to Advertise) to read: The Herald shall advertise Agora on a regular basis in any non-Agoran fora e deems appropriate. In particular, each month e shall if possible update the page about Agora on the NomicWiki at nomic.net to provide current, correct information about the game. In particular, e shall ensure to the best of eir ability that all players of Agora and all friendly nomics are listed, and that the page has no stale or inappropriately-described links. The Herald may add new correct information to the page at eir discretion. Enact a rule with power 2, titled "The Buddy List", reading: The Buddy List is a document listing all friendly nomics and providing the name and contact information for at least one representative of each listed nomic. The Buddy List is part of the Herald's report. The Herald has the privilege of maintaining the Buddy List and may generally add a nomic which e believes to be on friendly terms with Agora to this list by announcement. Any player of Agora may strike a nomic from the Buddy List with three support; in this case, the Herald must remove that nomic from the Buddy List, and may not add that particular nomic to the List again without the consent of the player who called for the nomic to be struck from the List. The Herald may freely make edits to the Buddy List which do not change which nomics are friendly. A nomic is friendly if and only if it appears on the Buddy List. Enact a rule with power 3, titled "Legislators", reading: A legislator is an entity with the power to submit proposals. All players of Agora and all members of friendly nomics are legislators. No other entity is a legislator. A legislator submits a proposal by announcement, including in eir announcement the full text of the proposal. Performing this action places the proposal in the Proposal Pool. The legislator who submitted a proposal may remove it from the Pool by announcement. Enact a rule with power 3, titled "Ecumenical proposals", reading: A proposal is ecumenical if and only if it is submitted by a member of a friendly nomic who is not also a player of Agora. For the Agoran decision of whether to adopt and ecumenical proposal, the eligible voters are all legislators, the quorum is what it would be if only active players of Agora were eligible voters, the adoption index is the minimum of two and the adoption index of the proposal, and the vote collector is the Herald. Amend rule 106 (Adopting Proposals) by deleting the text reading: A player submits a proposal by publishing it with a clear indication that it is intended to become a proposal, which places the proposal in the Proposal Pool. The proposer of a proposal may remove it from the Pool by announcement. ---------- -- C.
