Alan Grimes posted a link to Breitbart article on the same topic. AI is becoming an arms race. Biden recently banned exports of high bandwidth memory chips to China, and they responded with a ban on exports of gallium, germanium, and antimony to the US. I think that China is going to develop their own chips if we force them to, and surpass the US in AI technology over the next decade.
The internet forced the US to drop export controls on cryptographic software, a topic that I am sure Andreeson is familiar with. Now the internet won't work without encryption. I think AI will go the same way.
