@James: the trouble is that we are, in fact, talking about philosophical zombies. A discussion about some other type of zombie would be a different discussion. It's not the *word* "zombie" that is the problem, it's the *concept* of a p-zombie. Some of us find that a useful concept, some of us are arguing that p-zombies can't possibly exist and therefore the concept is not useful, and some of us still seem unable to grasp the concept.
