I'm sure the dei statement was sarcasm... That said, it wouldn't surprise me to find that some of the recent issues are related to the airlines being so desperate for pilots that they're not being as picky as they could/should be. But, this definitely can't be blamed on anything DEI but instead on the lack of highly qualified pilots.
