Not quite correct. The current system integrator is L3Harris, and the current
system I think is 10 or 20 years old and outdated. In 2023, Verizon won a $2
billion 15 year contract to update the network.

Supposedly all parties are reporting that L3Harris is working with SpaceX (and
they claim this started before the election) to use Starlink to patch up the
current system. They say SpaceX has provided some Starlink terminals initially
at no cost for testing.

So if you mean the Starlink terminals are being used to replace some current
cellular stuff, that could be correct. If you mean they are being used to
replace Verizon’s $2 billion 15 year infrastructure contract, that doesn’t
sound correct. Elon Musk seems to have misunderstood what his own guys were
telling him and initially confused the L3Harris system and what Verizon is
building, but I think he has walked that back.

Because the FAA has been told to dig up enough money to replace Verizon or T
mobile or some other wireless with Starlink.

Why do you think they're not all fiber? I assume they are fiber.

Can someone please tell me why FAA ATC facilities are not all served by fiber.
Why is wireless needed except for backup?
