Wave-PRO at 4 miles will maintain a link up to 34mm/hr. According to the ITU
rain zone table for K, this will be exceeded 0.01% of the year, which is
roughly 1 hr/year. During that period, you still have the 5Ghz radio to fall
back on. Seems like a reasonable compromise given the immense delta in cost and
licensing fees between the 2 solutions.

If you have the budget and get an 11Ghz channel pair coordinated, go for it, it
will be more reliable. I would use Aviat radios though.

Can you predict 60 GHz range without knowing the rain zone? I believe Jason is
near Springfield, IL, so it does rain. I think it’s ITU rain zone K? My
observation is many strong storms track from St. Louis to Indianapolis, I
attribute it to the St. Louis arch.

11Ghz is a waste of money for 4 Miles.. You can easily deliver 1Gbps at 4 Miles
with a pair of Wave-Pro radios.

Just under 4 miles.

I'm putting in a bid to deliver a 1G symmetric dedicated circuit. What are my
options for PtP gear that can accomplish this? I was thinking AF11, but their
advertising is misleading as it looks like (at least in the US) it can do just
under 700M. This is a 12 month commitment, so Aviat is probably out of the
budget.
