I appreciate the details, Matt!
I'm having trouble finding the 2x2 SM available anywhere, so I'm guessing this is a new product entering the distribution chain in the near future.. the 4x4 SM certainly seems cost prohibitive for residential service. The SM costs are pushing me back towards evaluating the ePMP variant, I'd love to use 4600C's with various RF Elements external antennas depending on this distance. I've got a message into the sales chain to see if we can figure out a CPE cost that works for a residential model. I find it frustrating that the connectorized SM is double the cost of the one with a 25db dish integrated. The 4x4 450v SM utilizes (and can aggregate) two carriers, so they can be any distance apart. If you use the 2x2 450v SM, there is a single carrier, though it supports multiple component carriers that must be within 100 MHz as of now. The overall carrier width will expand to 140 MHz, and a third component carrier will be added with R24.2, expected in late October. I will be doing a webinar on this topic on Sept. 17th if you'd like to hear more about how this works. It seems like the carriers can only be separated by 100 Mhz, so could be tricky to find choices that fit in UNII5 and UNII7 at the same time..? Oh, and EIRP is limited by FCC to 36 dBm, but that is per band. So you probably want to put one carrier in UNII5 and one in UNII7. ---- Original Message ---- From: "Peter Kranz via AF" Sent: 8/24/2024 6:20:48 PM To: af@af.afmug.com <mailto:af@af.afmug.com> Cc: "Peter Kranz" Subject: [AFMUG] Cambium 450v 6Ghz, any experience? Has anyone deployed the 450v in 6Ghz yet? Would love to understand what kind of performance people are seeing, and what kind of range you are getting in 6Ghz. Also not sure I fully understand how Cambium is selling these units now days.. Do you have to pay extra to unlock capacity on AP or SMs? Been awhile since we deployed 450 but 6Ghz is interesting. -Peter @ Unwired
