There was a brief time in 18th century revolutionary France when terms
like “Sir”, and “Madam” were seen as too much like supporting aristocracy and
therefore monarchy. Some people insisted on using the terms “citizen” and

Nobody’s going to learn 66 additional personal pronouns. Some
