Flowroute has had it’s ups and downs for us. We only use it for SIP trunking
and DIDs to our Asterisk server but have had different issues at times. Right
now, our 888 number through them does not work from US Cellular which
unfortunately being essentially local to Wisconsin is what the majority of our
customers use for cell service. We also use Anveo direct and have had good
luck with them. They’re definitely cheaper than Flowroute. We’ve also used
Vitelity but moved away from them because of reliability issues in the past.
I can’t say how their hosted products work since I’ve never used them. We
mostly use Grandstream phones but have played with other brands at times. The
GXP-2170 is my personal favorite and can often be found on Amazon in small lots
for about $50 each (Amazon warehouse).

Flowroute has served me well with several small projects. We were using it for
numbers for dial in signal meters and such as well. We’ve had some issues with
them but we had those same issues with VoIP Innovations at that point as well.
Some local Level3 connection issues at that point. Everything was done online,
prepay and they draw from your payment method when you get to a low balance
threshold that you set.

Yes, they are local. Just unhelpful.

What provider are you using? Do they have a local POP? Unless there is a lot of
jitter, latency shouldn't be an issue.

Tired of my sip provider. Moved our whole operation to a new backbone with my

because of high latency. 40mS. Cogent. Xmission in Salt Lake City. They
have always been a pain to work with anyhow.

We have a ubiquity phone on the way to try out. But I like asterisk and aastra
phones.

Any suggestions? Ready to port if the price is right...
