Mesh is the other technology which keeps popping up that ain't ever going to work the way it
Don't get me wrong, one could probably do automatic topology networks with the right radio set. Like maybe use that mmwave with some sort of 360 degree beamforming array which supports multiple simultaneous dynamically formed ptp links. Basically omni mmwave mumimo optimized for bidirectional links. But that's really just fancy backhaul which doesn't require pointed dishes. But.. It's the people who think that they can use one TDMA channel for everything including upstream, downstream, and customer links. And somehow they can do it in a way that overcomes the TDMA constraints.
