i think its less race than origin. too many generations out and they become "american" i think thats more where the problem lies. The POS mexicans i know are 3rd and 4th generation. I think the closer in generations you get to those who immigrated the more value the citizenship/lawful presence holds. my grampa fled nazi germany, I probably take my citizenship for granted much more than him (I want to learn german, he refused to speak it once he learned english and wouldnt teach it to my mom and uncles, because they were american) My kids even more. my grandkids will probably be leftist and lazy. We are still fairly new as a nation I dont know why we have so many mexicans here in a small town podunk, maybe migrant workers that stayed. One of my best friends growing up is third generation decorated airborne ranger, he has a tamale aunt too.
