I envy those of you with customers who want or are even willing to use an app
to manage their home network. I have a few, but most these days are lazy and
willfully ignorant. They seem to just want to whine and say things like “my
Internet isn’t strong enough”.

School has started up again here, and the homes with 3 and 4 kids on Zoom calls
are making things crazy.

We analyzed both, at the end, Plume was the right choice for us and was
cheaper because of overall TCO. Staff training, ease of use of the App by the
customer, less calls to call center… that all plays in hand…

Calix is MUCH cheaper to get into than Plume, with lower minimums. They
(Calix) were also running a WISP special earlier this year, I'm unsure if it is
still going on, but the upfront pricing was much more attractive.

We use Plume and its pretty good. If the decision were entirely in my court
I'd have gone with Calix. Long term it aligns better with where I think the
company should be going - all fiber all the time, but if all you are looking
for is simple wifi that works then Plume is pretty good.

We are looking into a managed WiFi solution for some of our more demanding
clients that either have big homes, or just want the best. We currently use
Mikrotik HAP AC Lite which don't have great coverage, but great features for us
in terms of management.

So for those that need more coverage etc, we thought we could offer something
for a monthly fee like Plume or Calix

Has anyone used them before? Thoughts and comments?
