You should be fine to run those a dozen feet or so.  Shouldn't be a problem
with what you're describing.

You never know, you might get your chance to write some salty
documentation.  I've got a pile of resumes I'm digging through (Upwork,
local), and can say that I think that maybe some salty docs peppered with
inappropriate references to the competition would be better than what some
of these people could produce.   Especially the ones with various language
sins on their applications.   Hint:  if you're applying for a writing job,
maybe your application/resume/cover letter shouldn't be filled with
questionable English.
