There was a report of a newish study saying it can live for 3 days on surfaces.
I am inferring that is the limit...

I'm sure it doesn't survive the boat ride, but how many people handle a package
before it gets to your door?

Or do the reliable sources say it can't survive on a cardboard box?

I'm not trying to make any statement about danger, just asking because I don't
know.

I've heard from several reliable sources that you do not need to worry about
the virus on shipping packages. The amount of time that it can survive on other
surfaces can be variable.

I picked up some AGM batteries at Zeus today, they are made in China. Am I

Chuck, how is your employee I think she was production supervisor or
something, who was sick after opening the Chinese PCBs? My daughter in Maine
just texted me she is over a nasty cold. Sometimes a cold is just a cold.

yeah, don lemon, i cant watch that guy for more than about 2 minutes, hes
so high every night he doesnt even know whats going on,i see him gone the way
of that dude that retired on air the other day very soon.

On a serious note, we are planning to disinfect anything coming in from
anywhere, within reason. I doubt its gonna be an issue, but the amazon
warehouse guy probably got it from air freight, so why risk it. I figure a
lysol of the box and contents, but i cant see going much beyond that without
destroying electronics.

I did lysol the shit out of some batteries i got from china off ebay for my
dad today, hes 78 and has COPD, so i got that shit pretty wet with lysol. Hes
soldering them so any residue will burn off and clear with flux. im not even
sure how they got here so fast from china, my tool is still there since
january, getting pretty pissed

OK, never mind. I see this clarification from I think an NYT
contributor on Twitter:

The White House clarifies the president's Europe travel ban "only
applies to human beings, not goods and cargo. It tracks very similar to the
proclamation issued for China. The people transporting goods will not be
admitted into the country, but the goods will be."

Did anyone listen to the POTUS address tonight? It is being reported
as a 30 day European travel ban. But I heard him say “these prohibitions will
not only apply to the tremendous amount of trade and cargo, but various other
things as we get approval. Anything coming from Europe to the United States is
what we are discussing.”

He was clearly reading from a teleprompter, so I don’t think he
misspoke or ad libbed.

Does this not sound like all imports from Europe will be blocked, at
least for 30 days? I don’t think we’ve blocked imports from China. We use
equipment that comes from European countries like Ukraine, Hungary, Latvia,
etc. Not sure how this would be implemented or if it makes any sense to block
thing imported goods. Also not sure what the “various other things” would be.
After people, trade and cargo, what else is there? Internet?

News reports don’t seem to be interpreting it the way I heard it, so
maybe I’m wrong?
