On the previous flight he forgot to arm something, I think it was related to
the parachute, and had to abort the launch for a bit.
I don't think he was big on checklists.

I mean it did work once before and this launch worked too, but either
there was an early parachute deployment or poor placement relative to
the exhaust plume nixed the ability to land safely. Or relatively
safely, apparently he was laid up for a while after the previous flight.
