As I understand it, using an SS with a Netonix switch will blow the port on the switch, but it isn't going to hurt the radio. If you connect the radios directly to the Netonix, you might save the switch, but you'll be more likely to lose the radio. I guess if the switch is on the ground, I'd say it's worth risking the switch to maybe save a radio... and there's a good chance you'll lose the switch if you don't have an SS anyway.
