This is incorrect. Many people established an email account over a decade ago 
with their ISP, haven't changed ISPs, and find the task of changing their email 
address and updating all of their contacts too much hassle. Same with old aol 
accounts. At this point, I think it's kind of neat that someone would have 
basically the same email address for 20+ years. Kind of like how I thought it 
was cool when I met someone with a low 7-digit ICQ number (I'm high 7-digit, 
sad!).

This has nothing to do with not being techie or sad. It has to do what works 
for those people.
