If it is at all possible to use ad-hoc reporting or the AWQL to get the 
data you need that would be your best solution. API units add up quickly 
using the individual service calls to retrieve data. Downloading ad-hoc 
reports is free(as in costs you no units) and allows you to retrieve all 
the data for a specific client account, one service related scope at a 
time(account, campaign, ad group, keyword, etc.). Downloading ad-hoc 
reports also happens synchronously, so it can be very fast. Remember to 
request all your reports to be returned gzipped so you can save on 
bandwidth and transfer time.
