Is it really as easy as just installing a new server on the new platform and then restoring a db?
I wasn't aware that you could restore a db across platforms. I thought you would have to export/import the nodes out of the AIX server into the Linux server. -----Original Message----- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Lee, Gary Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2013 7:36 AM To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: Re: Moving TSM server from AIX to Linux Shouldn't be a big deal. However, tougher with v6 than v5. You should be able to restore a db backup after installing the new server. Then, define storage pools, tape drives, and libraries as necessary. -----Original Message----- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Troy A Cross Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2013 9:28 AM To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: [ADSM-L] Moving TSM server from AIX to Linux ADSM-L mailing list, I've been tasked with the project to move our TSM server from AIX to Linux (prefer RedHat or CentOS).
