Richard, you were right. After downloading the bin file with the FireFTP client in binary mode, no problem extracting the file anymore. Upgrades went fine as well.

Problems using software downloaded with FTP are commonly due to the download not having been performed in Binary mode. Given that the bin file has a Feb 28 date, I would expect it to be in good condition (but nothing in life is guaranteed). Richard Sims
