Hi Alex,
This is a normal situation when other TSM Customers upgrade to a new hardware.
Don't know what IBM say about it but multiple customers do the samething you do
over and over again without buying extra temp lic.

I recommend that you talk to your IBM TSM SE Rep and he can help you out.

Best Regards
Christian Svensson

Ämne: TSM license question

I have a questions about TSM licensing:

We run TSM 5.3.4 on Windows 2000 Server, with an LTO2 and LTO3 library,
attached via SCSI. It works fine.

We are upgrading the entire system: new PC running Windows 2003 Server,
TSM 5.5.1 and a new LTO4 library.

Can I setup and install the new LTO4 library on the new server 5.5.1, and
keep the old server 5.3.4 up and running the other two libraries?
Eventually I want to migrate the older LTO libraries to the new server,
but I don't want backups offline while I make the switch, so I need both
online for a bit.

Thanks!

Alex
