TSM server: Linux x86_64 5.4.1.2 TSM client: Windows 5.4.1.3 We have been having lots of problems lately, primarily due to network changes (moving to VPN's, firewalls, etc). This causes constant hangs, timeouts, backup sessions not ending, etc.
One problem that has been cropping up is the following: >From DSMSCHED.LOG 10/29/2007 06:27:12 Scheduled event 'DIEBOLD' completed successfully. 10/29/2007 06:27:12 Sending results for scheduled event 'DIEBOLD'. 10/29/2007 08:27:12 Will attempt to send results for DIEBOLD again in 20 minutes. >From DSMERROR.LOG 10/29/2007 06:19:15 ANS1809W A session with the TSM server has been disconnected. An attempt will be made to reestablish the connection. 10/29/2007 06:19:16 ANS1809W A session with the TSM server has been disconnected. An attempt will be made to reestablish the connection. 10/29/2007 08:27:12 SendSchedResult: Received rc: -50 trying to receive ConfirmResp verb Thus the backup session never finishes. FWIW, I did research the "SendSchedResult" error and an apar pointed to a higher client level than they were running. So I had them update to the latest 5.4.1.3, but the problems still occur. We have to cancel the sessions ever day, since they never end on their own. The question has arrisen is.......what ports do the TSM clients use to send these "results" back to the server ? Is all traffic on the 1500/1501 ports ? Any suggestions ?
