I know I have one 2000 server with over a million files. Before journal backups it took about 1-2 hours to backup the server. After it takes about 20min!

Thank you for your reply! The total amount of files is about 600.000 files, so journaling is maybe a bit overdone. The problem is not the amount of files, but the time in takes to scan them. It MUCH slower than on other Windows NT clients.
