Hello Humberto I'll give you my best answer (and hope it helps); The ANR8302E Says OP=OFFL meaning the drive is offline, you should be able to see this on the library display. The sense code, comes from the device (the drive) itself, and is not likely to be wrong (seen from a drive perspective). It could be, you haven't labelled your volume, or that the volume should be re-labelled, or checked for errors. Does this happen to all volumes?
A long time ago, (at least 2 years) I upgraded a 3583 using serial communication on the back of the library. I can't remember the exact way to do it, but there is a small text document on the web (IBM), describing how to do it, both by serial, and by SCSI, and the utilities to use. Try this link - ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/358x/3583/3583_Howto.txt Utilities to use at the same place (i think). Rgds Geirr G. It always says that it can't read the label of the tape inside the drive, but I always have checked in the tape before (it appear on the query libvol) Platform: W2K, TSM 5.1.6.1, an external SDG 2108 R03 I have the lastest firmware versions for the Library and the drives. There is an issue that have something to do with cabling a SANDGM but I don't have a SANDGM installed on the library. Also I'm using the TSM Device Driver for the Library and the windows drivers for the tapes. Another issue, that doesn't have anything with TSM, someone know how to upgrade an LTO RMU firmware via scsi or serial? In the proccess of upgrading it it failed, so now I don't have RMU control know, and on the manuals it doesn't talk about it (as long as I can see, you can only upgrade drives or library firmware through this process) Thanks in advance.
