Thanx to all you guys that helped me with my problem. I took the easy way and kept the generic drivers.
I just deleted the lto class and lto pool and created a generic pool and generic class. To make the story short it worked lika a charm. Next time any of you come to Iceland drop me a line and I will buy you a nice dinner Best regards Thordur A. -----Original Message----- From: Bill Mansfield [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 4. mars 2002 18:04 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: TSM 4.2.1.9 on Win NT, insufficient number of mount points Well there's the problem. Your various tape devices classes are using type "LTO". Your Tape Drives are of type "GENERICTAPE". You need for your tape drives to be defined as LTO, or your tapes (which are in storage pools of type LTO) won't have anyplace to mount. Like Steffan said, you need to remove your tape drive definitions and diddle with your drivers (and possibly tape drive firmware) until your drives come up as type LTO. Then you should be set. _____________________________ William Mansfield Senior Consultant Solution Technology, Inc 630 718 4238 Þórður Aðalsteinsson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent by: "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 03/04/2002 11:10 AM Please respond to "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: Subject: Re: TSM 4.2.1.9 on Win NT, insufficient number of mount points tsm: TSM_SERVER1>q stgpool f=d Session established with server TSM_SERVER1: Windows NT Server Version 4, Release 2, Level 1.9 Server date/time: 03/04/2002 17:01:49 Last access: 03/04/2002 16:42:41 Storage Pool Name: ARCHIVEPOOL Storage Pool Type: Primary Device Class Name: DISK Estimated Capacity (MB): 0.0 Pct Util: 0.0 Pct Migr: 0.0 Pct Logical: 100.0 High Mig Pct: 90 Low Mig Pct: 70 Migration Delay: 0 Migration Continue: Yes Migration Processes: 1 Next Storage Pool: Reclaim Storage Pool: Maximum Size Threshold: No Limit Access: Read/Write Description: Overflow Location: Cache Migrated Files?: No Collocate: Reclamation Threshold: Maximum Scratch Volumes Allowed: Delay Period for Volume Reuse: Migration in Progress?: No Amount Migrated (MB): 0.00 Elapsed Migration Time (seconds): 0 Reclamation in Progress?: Volume Being Migrated/Reclaimed: Last Update by (administrator): ADMIN Last Update Date/Time: 03/03/2002 10:24:41 Storage Pool Data Format: Native Storage Pool Name: BACKUPPOOL Storage Pool Type: Primary Device Class Name: DISK Estimated Capacity (MB): 0.0 Pct Util: 0.0 Pct Migr: 0.0 Pct Logical: 100.0 High Mig Pct: 1 Low Mig Pct: 0 Migration Delay: 0 Migration Continue: Yes Migration Processes: 1 Next Storage Pool: DISKPOOL Reclaim Storage Pool: Maximum Size Threshold: No Limit Access: Read/Write Description: Overflow Location: Cache Migrated Files?: No Collocate: Reclamation Threshold: more... My problem is that when migrating from disk to tape I get this right away, ANR0984I Process 28 for MIGRATION started in the BACKGROUND at 23:20:49. ANR1000I Migration process 28 started for storage pool DISKPOOL. ANR1134W Migration terminated for storage pool DISKPOOL - insufficient number of mount points available for removable media. ANR0985I Process 28 for MIGRATION running in the BACKGROUND completed with completion state FAILURE at 23:20:49. ANR1002I Migration for storage pool DISKPOOL will be retried in 60 seconds. ANR1003I Migration retry delay ended; checking migration status for storage pool DISKPOOL. However im able to label and checkin volumes without any problems I have changed the mount limit from drives to 2 (update dev ltoclass1 libr=lb0.0.0.2 devtype=lto mountlimit=2). That changed nothing My feeling is that im overlooking somthing in the config of the library or drives I also have a newer version of firmware then the one tested with TSM. Would changing OS4s do anything, go to W2K?
