Daniel, That is really good news but I think the question had to do with migration from 4.1.x or older to 4.2.1.7. Did you need to backup and then restore your TSM db? Did you need to hide any server configuration files and then reinstall them after the upgrade? Did you need reconfigure your devices into TSM? Did you have access to all your custom scripts? Did you have to checkout and checkin all tapes? Were there issues with licensing? These are the type of issues that I think that Dan Lee was interested in (I am too as I will need to go through this soon). Thanks

It works perfect! The performance of the 4.2.1.16 client compared to the 4.2.1.0 client is awsome. And, if you're using the 4.2.0.0 client, don't use compression. According to Tivoli, you will not be able to perform all restores. The 4.2.1.7 is almost required. There are a lot of bugs both in 4.2.0.0 and 4.2.1.0. I've just tried installing both 4.2.0.0 and 4.2.1.0 at a customer, and it has been nothing but problems. When we upgraded to 4.2.1.7 on the server, we go rid of a lot of problems. But, when we upgraded the clients(about 150) we were happily surprised by the good performance of the 4.2.1.16 client. Its about 20-25% faster than the 4.2.1.0 client we used before.
