Hi 10GB / hour seems very low.
An LTO drive is capable of delivering 15MB/s, or 54GB/hour uncompressed(30MB/s compressed or 108GB/hour). Some things that may slow things down is if you're using compression on your clients, have hardware compression turned on and so on. I'd suggest you diagnose your SCSI connection. Somethings seems to be wrong, and this is also confirmed by the error message you get when trying to upgrade the firmware. Have you got anything else on the same SCSI bus? Or have you got more than 2 drives on each SCSI bus? I am getting only 5Gb/Hr where as the spec says it is 10GB/Hr. When i went through the TSM Mailing List Archive some has suggested to change the tape microcode to 0CE1 from 0BN1. But i could not locate the file 0ce1.fmr in the site : ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/358x I got 16E0.fmr in that site but i get error while updating the file through SCSI bus. Any one has any idea?. Regards O.Senthil NT Administrator Ph: 2540888 Ext :2164
