What you really should do is synchronize the library:

audit library libname checklabel=barcode
checkin libvol libname search=yes checklabel=barcode status=scratch
checkin libvol libname search=yes checklabel=barcode status=private

Make sure you issue the two checkin commands in the order I've shown.

Audit library will help TSM to checkout volumes that it doesn't find but it
will not checkin volumes that it does find! If you have a tape in the
library that TSM does not know about, the audit won't fix that up. To fix
that up you need to do the checkin commands above. The order is important
since you generally don't want to check scratch tapes in as private.

Let us know!

I would run an AUDIT LIBRARY blah CHECKLBAEL=barcode when your
drives are not in use and then look at actlog and see what changes occur.
This will generally clear these problems.

What library model do you have?

I have TSM ver 4.1.2.1 and I'm using :
checkout libvol lb0.0.0.2 aax123 remove=bulk to CHECKOUT volumes from
the library

and

checkin libvol lb0.0.0.2 aax456 status=scratch to CHECKIN volumes. The
console indicates the Library is full and then completes with a failure.

Thanks

Patrick

What library and version of TSM do you have?
What command did you use to checkout and checkin tapes?

Hello TSM'rs

I'm losing my mind these days with this,

Why when I checkout 10 tapes and add 10 new tapes in and try to checkin do
I get Library Full errors? I just did a restore from one tape and was just
repalcing the existing weeks tapes back. What is wrong ?

TIA

Patrick
