You're talking about database volume setup, Jeff; the original poster
was asking about disk pool setup.

If you're flushing the disk pool (cached, natch) to tape, disk failure
is really pretty moot; the data will reside on tape in any event.

I wouldn't bother with *any* kind of array. Save yourself the expense
and administrative overhead of an array. Just cache the disk pool and
spill it over into tape daily. Easy-peezy.
