Hi Zoltan,

i guess you are searching for that licensing information.

https://www.ibm.com/software/passportadvantage/about_software_licensing.html
https://www-40.ibm.com/software/sla/sladb.nsf

As far as I know, the license to use the software will be still in place after
the end date of the support contract.
It will not possible for you to get technical support, and you are then no
longer allowed to install or use newer software versions that were published
after the end of the support contract,
and as always not more TB or PVUs may be used than were purchased.

I would definitely have all of this confirmed to me by someone responsible from
IBM.

Regards, Uwe

Subject: [ADSM-L] Moving away from Spectrum Protect

There is a strong possibility we will be moving away from Spectrum Protect and
wanted to get a definitive answer on what happens when we don't pay the license
renewal fee (currently in a hybrid of Storage & PVU).

This page has the same question/discussion but the link from Del no longer
works:

https://www.backupcentral.com/forum/5/292770/query_regarding_ibm_spectrum_suite_support_renewal

Any transition to a replacement system will likely take 6-months or more of
overlap (archives would need to be restored and moved to the new system) and
since our contracts run from July 1-June 30, we would not want to renew our
Spectrum licenses in the year we start the transition (either 2022 or
2023 since we are also moving our datacenter by the end of 2023).
