I'm in no way even close to understanding networking, that said, I've have fought some issues with this kind of setup.
On the client you may need to specify a route to get the client to send over the 10g adapter. Some duel homed unix systems will default to sending out the adapter with the lowest IP address (FreeBSD in a DataDomain does this, cough, cough). The solution was to specify a route so the client system knows what adapter to use to reach a particular IP addr. I've also had backup "loops" where the a client system would send packets on one adapter to the TSM server, while packets from the TSM server would come in on the clients other adapter. This was a long time ago and I don't remember what we did to fix it, but I think routes came into it again.
