What type of tape?
The "write protected" error is because someone has physically flipped the
write-protect tab on the tape cartridge.
But the tab is in a different place depending on the tape type...

What determines if a tape is write protected?  Had discovered that tape were
in a status of Private but not being used.  I updated the volume and placed
in scratch but when TSM attempts to use as scratch he says that the volume
is write protected ?  Can't explain why this is happening...
