Gene,
If you are running Notes/Domino Server version 4,
you can use TDP for Lotus Notes which backs up
at the document level.
If you are running Notes/Domino Server version 5,
you can use TDP for Lotus Domino which backs up
at the "file or database" level. Using TDP for
Domino you are backing up each individual's mailbox
as a separate TSM object. And so each user's mailbox
can be restored to the same (or different) server
over the top of the old mailbox OR as a different
database name if you would like.
You indicated that you have R5. And so, your
only supported choice is TDP for Domino.
See the Tivoli web page for more details.
Thanks,
Del

"ADSM: Dist Stor
Manager"
As usual I'm a little confused about which product to run or which is best.
We
are currently running R5 notes and what I'm not sure of for backing up
purposes
do I need the lotus notes for domino or tivoli data protection for lotus
notes
ver. 2.1. I believe the domino version I saw on the web site was 1.1.1 I
could
be wrong.
I appreciate someone help me understand the difference. I running notes on
two
R6000 4.3.3 aix.
Thanks for your help,
Gene
