I used to get these errors in only HP-UX. I never could figure out how to
fix this problem as it was sporadic at best. Sometimes it would work,
sometimes not. I ended up using a cron job to initiate the backups in order
to get around this problem.

Subject: error on HPUX 11.0 client
I am running TSM 3.7.1 on OS/390 2.5 server to an HPUX 11.0 TMS 4.1
client. It installed fine and you can start TSM from the client and
do
backups and restores just fine.
When you try to start a session from the server through the
scheduler the
server says to start a session and then the following error shows up
in the
client error log
TCP/IP received rc 9 trying to accept connection from serve.
Has anyone seen or provide any help in what might be causing it.
