Serge - Good question. My experience is the same as yours: that the
        scheduler has to be restarted if any client specs are changed,
as dsmc grabs them when it starts and never looks back.

This can be confirmed in a simple experiment:
Set your inclexcl file to specify some EXCLUDE.DIR;
Start 'dsmc', to run interactively;
Do 'show inclexcl' and see the EXCLUDE.DIR reflected;
Edit the inclexcl file to remove the EXCLUDE.DIR;
Repeat 'show inclexcl' and see the EXCLUDE.DIR still reflected.

I know that the documentation people periodically monitor ADSM-L, and
may act on postings like this. But don't hesitate to submit
suggestions to the email address in the front pages of the manuals.
