Hmmmm......
Well, if your drive use isn't limited, perhaps it's your randomization setting.
Unlikely, but worth a check:
For client nodes that use the client polling mode, the server uses this setting to
distribute the start times for clients over the percentage of the duration starting
with the start time.

Thanks for the hint. I did a q dev and the mount limit is set to 4. Any other
ideas?

Do a q dev and look at the mountlimit setting. If it isn't drives or four, your
restricting the number of drives potentially allocated.

I'm running aix 4.3.0 and using tsm to backup on a 3575 library. There are
currently 4 tape drives in the 3575. The problem is that two of the drives are
being used for backup storage pool with two drives open and not being used.
I have a schedule that was supposed to execute that call up a macro to back up
informix database using onbar. The schedule did not execute in the one hour
period although two drives were empty. Has anyone got an idea of what is going
on.
Thanks,
Gene
