The DSMFMT command ended ok, and the file was allocated:
This is the last line from the DSMFMT result:
Allocated space for /adsmdata/log6.dsm: 1074790400 bytes
So i assumed that i was ok formatted.
The backup db command you run in the end, is it clearing the current
recovery log ?
So maybe i wil try that...

Peter,
I noted that you "tried" to format a new log...how? Did you check
to see if you had enough filesystem space available (I'm guessing you
running on UNIX).
Here are the steps I followed when I needed to extend a new log:
1. dsmfmt -m -log /adsmdata/log.2 ##
2. dsmserv extend log /adsmdata/log.2 ##
3. backup db devclass=xxxx type=full scratch=yes
