I tested this too without any effect.

Looking at the amount of allocated memory there seems to be written something 
in the 9front kernel after kbmap initialising and usbprobing equaling the 
amount of memory supplied for 9front in both versions amd64/386. 

My plan9.ini for pxe booting has this format :
bootfile=/amd64/9pc64
nobootprompt=tcp
fs=10.0.2.1
auth=10.0.2.1
mouseport=ps2intellimouse
monitor=vesa
vgasize=1600x900x32
user=glenda
console=0
kbmap=de
service=terminal
nora6=1

I tested this for both versions. After booting the system runs without problems 
while fully using the supplied memory until shutdown.
