Hi all, I just had the time to test this setup :
1) I could run 9legacy, 9front/386 and 9front/amd64 with some minor adjustments using u9fs and pxeboot.raw from Russ Cox's github. Thank you ! 2) The startup speed various between the distros. Russ's version is the fastest, followed by 9legacy and 9front. 9legacy needs time for "genrandom". I don't know what happens in 9front but it seems to hang for about 15 s before it starts rio. 3) Compilation issues When compiling the system u9fs slows down the performance. It's best to use 9vx for a full system compilation for Russ's distro and 9legacy. To avoid this loss of time you should compile using ramfs in the VM and afterwards export the results over u9fs. Full system compilation worked for 9front/386 and 9front/amd64. 9legacy's 9k10xxx couldn't be compiled neither in 9vx nor in the guest. This problem exists for a while now and is caused by modified version of sh, awk and ls in the 9legacy distro. The 386 versions could be compiled without problems. Under Russ's version 9k10xxx but not 9k10 conf didn't work. The reason was a simple misstyped entry in the config file 9k/k10 in the section rootdir where bootk10f.out had to be replaced by bootk10.out.
