Well it's a 32bit processor, so vlong will be emulated partly in the runtime 
library and partly by the compiler. If there's a bug there then an example 
would be a contribution to science. :) I would still expect such a bug to 
produce a reliable wrong answer or a crash - and not be perturbed by a note 
handler, though.
