9front and Plan 9 are multi-user/multi-tasking distributed operating environments. How 9front and Plan 9 are used today differs greatly than how it was originally meant to be deployed. An end user was meant to login via a Plan 9 terminal to access a distrubuted operating environment. Nowadays, folks typically install Plan 9 or 9front on a single laptop and use it as a terminal and server. Since there is no distributed environment, it appears to be single-user/multi-tasking. You were meant to shutdown the terminal session, not the server. ------------------------------------------ 9fans: 9fans Permalink: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/T5888591114a7cf34-M2987089fb585827375cf09ea Delivery options: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/subscription
