now that's robust. back to the problem at hand, lets suppose that the mac doesn't generate keep alive traffic, and lets suppose that plan 9 doesn't either, it's going to be hard to come up with a drawterm setup that is useful and has no programs that walk /dev by doing things like calling time(). - erik
