Maybe this help you:

 VMware Workstation settings:

 Edit -> Preferences -> Input
        uncheck "Grab when cursor enters window"
        uncheck "Ungrab when cursor leaves window"

 VMware Player settings:

 preferences.ini
        pref.motionGrab = "FALSE"
        pref.motionUngrab = "FALSE"
