No, it was even slower, that's why I went from 1500 to 9000.
I estimate it brought ~20 MByte/s more peak on Windows 7 64 bit CIFS.

Wireshark or tcpdump on Linux/Windows? What would
you suggest for OI?

Otherwise napp-it attests full SMART support.
