Cause the author doesn't really try it :) If he did, he would've known that encryption doesn't work (unless you encrypt the underlying storage with luks, which doesn't count). And that Ubuntu ppa is also usable on debian, so that he didn't have to compile from source or worry about misplaced manpages. > Can GNU/Linux boot off raidz roots?
