Since ZFS is a COW FS, how would tracking individual writes suck worse ?

I thought I had heard that both versioning and auto-archiving were on
the ZFS roadmap years ago. I have an application where SAM-FS is a
good fit due to it's auto-archive (and versioning) capability, but it
cannot meet our performance needs.
