I haven't done this on Solaris 11 Express, but this worked on OpenSolaris 2009-06: prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/c5t0d0s0 | fmthard -s - /dev/rdsk/c5t1d0s0 Where the first disk is the current root and the second one is the new mirror.
