I tested the Fusion IO MLC based PCI-e cards on OpenSolaris and found the performance to be amazing. Hopefully Fusion IO will release supported drivers for Solaris 11 Express and onwards. The Fusion IO MLC card was giving me around 500MB/s write performance with O_SYNC.
