its not quiet by default but it can be made somewhat more quiet by swapping
out the fans or going to larger fans.  Its still totally worth it.

I use smaller, silent htpc's for the actual media and connect to the norco
over gigabit.

My norco box is connected to the network with 2 link aggregated gigabit
ethernet cables.

It's very nice.
