uep, This solution seems like the best and most efficient way of handling large filesystems. My biggest question however is, when backing this up to tape, can it be split across several tapes? I will be using bacula to back this up. Will i need to tar or star this filesystem before writing it to tape? The next question I have is since I am using a primary and a secondary server, using zfs send/recv how would I incorporate this solution to then backing the secondary SAN to tape? Will I need double the hard disk space as I will need a file based copy of the ZFS filesystem? I know it is a lot of questions but I thought the solution would work perfect in my environment.
